AINGERU MUNGUÍA. DV. The works of the bidegorri of Morlans have been awarded this week, they will begin in June and the donostiarras will be able they will be able to circulate next March along this new track that will bring over the quarters of Amara and Ibaeta.
The tracing will pass for the railroad tunnel of, already in desuetude, line Bilbao-Donostia to his step along Morlans. The Town hall realized the project to transform this railroad trip into an urban cycle route, but an agreement was necessary with the Department of Transports of the Basque Government to impel the performance. First of all because Euskal Trenbide Sarea (ETS), public entity dependent on the Basque Government that manages the railroad infrastructures of the CAV, wanted to use the ancient tunnel as a route of evacuation or of emergency of the current railroad line in functioning that passes to scarce meters. The conciliation of both interests - to do the bidegorri and the evacuation route - led to the signature of an agreement by means of which ETS was transferring the ancient route for his cycle use.
ETS has awarded this week the works to the company Galdiano for an amount for 1.994.935 euros and a term of execution of 9 months. According to sources of the Basque Government, from the awarding to the beginning of the works they usually happen two months. The work is financed to equal parts by Town hall and Basque Government. This rail - bike will have almost two kilometers long between the walk of Errondo - at a height of the Sacred Family - and the avenue of Toulouse - in the Errotaburu rotunda-. From the lot where the ancient Factory of Gas was located, the bidegorri will go along 400 meters along the current quarter Morlans up to embocar, under the viaduct of circulation Amara-Ibaeta, in the railroad tunnel. This alley is 840 meters long, 3,5 meters wide and more than 5 meters high. To the exit of the tunnel, the rail bike will cover 430 opencast meters up to the current station of the Mole of Lugaritz - to the height delgeriátrico - and another 290 meters up to reaching the bidegorri of the avenue of Toulouse. At the entry and exit of the tunnel there will be placed doors that will block the way during the night to avoid irregular establishments in the route. The tunnel will be usable only for
cyclists, not for the pedestrians, and the safety will be guaranteed by means of cameras. The potentiality of this bidegorri hits in the eye.
To go of Amara to the Ancient today it is necessary to cover the whole center of the city to avoid to rise up to Aiete. With the new tracing they will be taken
a few minutes in coming from Pío XII to the university campus.
