This way it was announced yesterday by the councilman of Mobility, Ernesto Gasco, who emphasized that "the award supposes an important recognition of the European Union to the politics of Mobility of the Town hall of San Sebastian". For his part, the mayor, Odón Elorza, trusted that this economic contribution allows to attack along the present term the construction of a funicular one between Loiola and Intxaurrondo, in order to improve the pedestrian connection between both quarters.
The new itinerary would depart from the square of Atari Eder, in Loiola, to continue for a footbridge on the river and the tracing of the funicular one up to the Ametzagaina hillock. From there, by means of pedestrian footpaths and footbridges, it would go over to the Otxoki walk, in Intxaurrondo.
Elorza showed also his satisfaction for the good European reception of the proposals donostiarras and showed that "when the opposition says that there is no transport policy, I believe that he lives out of the city".
On the other hand, the socialistic councilor announced that it will support today a meeting with the minister of Promotion, Magdalen Alvarez, in order to specify the financing that will contribute the state entity for different performances related to the mobility in Donostia.
